SETTING UP A LEAGUE
In this How-To, you will learn:
- how to find your league,
- how to add a division to the league,
- how to add a team to your league,
- how to add team members and manage rosters,
- how to schedule league matches, and
- how to enter match results.
- This How-To guide explains how to carry out the responsibilities of both League Administrators and Team Captains.
- Please note that Administrators have a greater range of capabilities than Captains, so while all sections apply to Administrators, only some apply to Captains. The sections which apply to Team Captains are “Find Your League/Division”, “Manage Rosters”, “Schedule League Matches”, and “Enter Match Results”.
FIND YOUR LEAGUE/DIVISION:
For Team Captains: After you have logged in to your US Squash account, click “Leagues” on your profile page. In this window, you can see all the leagues you are in. Navigate to your Team or your League by clicking on its name.
For League Administrators: Click on the 'Admin' link on your profile page. All items here are arranged chronologically. Find your league and click on it.
ADD A DIVISION TO THE LEAGUE:
To add a division to your league, click on "Add Division" on your league home page. In the "Add Division" menu that appears, you can configure settings such as the name of your division, the dates through which it will be played, the number of matches, and the scoring and points systems to be used.
ADD A TEAM TO THE DIVISION:
- To add a team to your division, select “Add Team” from your division home page.
- The “Add Team” menu will appear. In this menu, you can add your team name, captain, co-captain, home facility, affiliation, and logo/background pictures. Entering a Name and Captain are required to create the team.
3. To enter the Team Name: select “General” and type it in the indicated field.
4. To enter the Captain, Co-Captain, and Facility: type the name in the indicated field and click on the name when it appears. Click “Apply” when finished.
To add Team Logo/Background:
- The Team Logo is the circular space which appears beside the name of your Team, and the Team Background is the image which appears behind your Team Name and Logo. Feel free to have fun choosing these pictures!
- To edit these images:
- Select “Team Logo” or “Team Background” from the Editing Menu (whichever you want to edit). Then click “Select a file” and choose the desired picture from your device.
- Edit your selected picture by adjusting the size and position of the target box. The circle underneath the main image indicates how the picture will actually appear on the team page. Then, click “Apply” to upload your new picture.
MANAGE ROSTERS:
- To manage your team roster, go to your team home page and click “Manage Roster”.
2. Search for the player you want to add in the indicated field, and click their name. Then, click “Add”. The names of all added players will appear under “Current Roster”.
SCHEDULE LEAGUE MATCHES:
- For those scheduling individual matches, follow the steps below. To find the League Scheduler (same as the old version), go to the league home page, and click on “League Scheduler” above the list of divisions.
- To schedule a league match: Go to the division home, and click “Create Match.” Alternatively, you may start from a team home page, and click “Create Match.”
2. Under “Match Info”, enter the Date, Time, Round, and the Home/Visiting Teams in the indicated fields. Enter the Location under the Location tab (optional). When finished, click “Apply”. The match will now appear under “Upcoming Matches” on the Division home page, and on the Team home pages.
3. To set up the lineup, click the three dots next to the scheduled match. Then, click “Scoreboard”, and then on "Manage Lineup".
4. Enter the lineup by clicking each seed (1S, 2S, 3S, etc.), and choosing the player to play there from the drop down menu. Click “Save Lineup”, and then “Close”.
ENTER MATCH RESULTS:
- On either the Division home page or the Team home page, start by clicking the three dots next to the scheduled match.
- By clicking these three dots, a menu will appear. “Scoreboard” will take you to a live score page of the match. You can also edit lineups and enter scores for the match from the Scoreboard. “Edit Match” will allow you to edit any match information. “Delete Match” will remove the match from the system.
- To enter a match score: Select “Enter Score” after clicking the three dots.
- Select one of the seeds, and click “Quick Score”.
- Enter the matchup by selecting the players from each team, the Winner of the match, and the Match Status in the indicated fields. Enter the score of the match, and click “Submit”. Repeat for all the seeds.
